COVID-19 advice relating to our services and facilities
St John of God Hauora Trust is continuing to monitor COVID-19 and reviewing our responses and protocols to keep clients and residents safe. Our Regional Managers continue to work closely with partner government agencies as we evaluate and move across alert levels. We are following advice and guidelines as issued by the New Zealand Government and Ministry of Health.
Many residents living with us are at elevated risk of from Covid-19 due to lower immune function and physical condition. We thank you for your understanding as we continue to observe heightened precautions in keeping them safe and well.
St John of God Waipuna: The facility has resumed normal operating hours and all groups and services are operating as normal.
St John of God Halswell and Community Homes: From Monday 8 June visiting hours will be 2pm to 5pm every day. You do not need to book an appointment. Please follow the instructions of caregivers onsite including only spending time in the resident's room that you are visiting.
St John of God Karori and Clouston Park Community Homes: Please complete the following screening form 24 hours in advance of a visit at www.bit.ly/VisitSJOG. You will also be asked to confirm screening questions on arrival. Contact us on 04 464 2010 if you have questions.
Our care for residents during the Covid-19 outbreak
In our Residential Care services, we continue to maintain routines and activities for residents as much as possible, but with increased vigilance and procedures to ensure minimum chance of transmission. As the Alert levels further improve we will plan to resume community based activities.
Our caregivers are observing additional measures to help keep residents safe. All our facilities are preparing to continue to deliver care under a range of different staffing and operational conditions.
