Sarah Hillier – Chief Executive Officer

Sarah was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2021 having served as Acting Chief Executive Officer since November 2020. Prior to her current position, Sarah served as Regional Manager of our Community Youth and Child Services division from 2014 to 2020. She has more than 20 years of health sector experience in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Sarah has held a number of senior clinical and leadership positions for New Zealand health and social service providers including Te Roopu Taurima O Manukau Trust, NZCare Group, RIDCA and Lifelinks.

Virginia Spoors – Regional Manager Health and Ability Services

Virginia is the Regional Manager for Health and Ability Services. Virginia first joined the organisation in 2008, initially as Workforce Development and Quality Manager and subsequently Clinical Support Services Manager. She is a Registered Comprehensive Nurse with over 20 years of experience in nursing, health education and in advisory roles.

Avadene Broeren – Acting Regional Manager Community Youth and Child Services

Avadene has served as Acting Regional Manager since November 2020, having been Manager of Early Childhood Education since 2015. Avadene has over 17 years experience in the early childhood sector - teaching and managing large corporate centres, in both New Zealand and Australia.  Avadene is a full registered teacher, holding her Diploma of Teaching (ECE).

Jason McTague – National Manager Mission Integration

Jason McTague is the National Manager Mission Integration at St John of God Hauora Trust. He has experience in both church and corporate environments, and is notably experienced with delivering mission orientated projects and strategic plans. Prior to his current role, Jason worked as Digital and Print Media Manager for the Catholic Diocese of Christchurch. Jason holds a Bachelor of Theology from the Sydney College of Divinity.

Mal Kendrew – National Manager Corporate Services

Mal is the National Manager Corporate Services providing leadership of the organisation’s strategic and operational activities. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and has extensive project management experience in engineering, manufacturing and infrastructure development and senior leadership experience in the tertiary education, health and social services sectors.

Warren Murphy – National Manager Finance and Procurement

Warren is the National Manager Finance and Procurement, providing the financial leadership to ensure achievement of our strategic and operational objectives. He has over 20 years of private and public sector leadership experience including senior Finance roles at the Department of Conservation and Christchurch City Council.

Seáneen McKenzie – National Manager Human Resources

Seáneen is the National Manager Human Resources, with more than 14 years of government sector experience. Prior to her current role Seaneen has had senior leadership experience coordinating the establishment of a number of regional and national offices within a large Government Department.

George Anderson – National Manager Fundraising and Marketing

George is the National Manager Fundraising and Marketing with a wealth of public and private health sector communication and marketing experience. Prior to his current role, George worked in health promotion and corporate communications for NSW Health, as well consulting for health public relations agencies.
