Little Owls Preschool fit-out complete

Little Owls, which is based at St John of God Waipuna in Avonside, Christchurch,recently worked with the Play’n’Learn design team to design and deliver our new learning environments. 

It was important for Little Owls to have learning environments that would challenge tamariki in all aspects of their physical, social, and mental development while offering a warm, nurturing place to learn with their enthusiastic and passionate teachers.

St John of God Waipuna Acting Regional Manager Avadene Broeren said the team wanted to create some learning hubs and some bright new spaces for tamariki.

"We also wanted to create little hubs for our children to play in so that we could have some small group learning as well as some areas for group activity," she said.

"Play’n’Learn has added to the environment for us; we’ve had lots of parent engagement and the children are really engaged and really happy."

This meant there was a need for customisation, which was an exciting journey for both the team at Little Owls and the team at Play’n’Learn.

Overall the refurbishment has been an amazing success, leading to more engaged and curious tamariki, easier classroom management for Little Owls Kaiako, and lots of positive feedback and referrals from Whanau.
