Because being a dad isn’t easy

Free emotional support for new dads that will help you deal with all those dad challenges and bond with your little one.

Becoming a dad is exciting.
But it can also be stressful.

There’s no instruction manual for new dads, so while pregnancy and your baby’s early years can be exciting, it can be a tough time, too. New responsibilities. Less time for you and your partner. Often, less sleep.

There can also be unexpected challenges. Pregnancy and the early years can be traumatic, especially if your little one has health issues. Becoming a parent can even bring up traumatic issues from your past.

Don’t stay mum. Ask your GP for a referral

We get it. Asking for help doesn’t come naturally. Maybe you’re worried about what people will think. Perhaps you’re putting yourself under extra pressure to be your family’s ‘provider’ or a rock for your partner.

But the truth is, it’s normal for new dads to feel overwhelmed. What’s more, taking action – getting some advice on how to cope so you build a strong bond with your baby – is an admirable, selfless thing to do as a dad.

We’re here to help you

Our support services can assist you by:

  • helping you understand your symptoms and feel more in control
  • providing holistic, patient-centred therapies to treat perinatal depression and anxiety, which affects men as well as women
  • equipping you and your family with the tools you need to strengthen your relationships and return to an active, healthy and rewarding life.

These benefits depend on your circumstances and require you to fully participate in necessary care and management. You should consult a specialist in this area before deciding whether treatment is suitable for you.
