New orthopaedic and spinal unit for Berwick
Orthopaedic care is expanding in Berwick with a new unit opening in February 2019. Treating injuries and diseases of the body's musculoskeletal system, including the spine, the new orthopaedic unit will open earlier than planned to meet the growing demand from residents in Melbourne’s southeast.
The 28-bed ward will primarily focus on orthopaedic and neurosurgical patients.
There will also be expanded use of robotic assisted surgery in Berwick, delivering leading medical technology for partial knee replacements and total knee replacements.
Our new orthopaedic unit will mean that orthopaedic surgery and rehabilitation are available under one roof for the convenience of both patients and their families.
